Who We Are
We're Modern Day Muffler & Brakes, a family-run auto repair shop on S Lyman St here in Wadsworth. Exhaust and brake work is what we do — day in, day out. Mufflers, brakes, catalytic converters, flex pipes and Ohio E-Check repair make up the bulk of our week, and because we stay in that lane, we know these systems inside and out.
The shop is run by Rob and Patti Hedrick, and "family-run" isn't just a phrase we like the sound of. It shapes how we treat the people who pull into our bay. When something's worn out, we bring you over and show you the actual part — what it does, why it's failing, and whether it's a fix-it-now situation or something that can safely ride a little longer. No pressure, no mystery, no guessing on your behalf.
What We Do
Most of what comes through our door has a symptom you can hear or feel:
- Brakes — squeaking, grinding, or a pedal that sinks too far. We look at the whole system: pads, rotors, calipers, hardware and lines.
- Mufflers — when they get loud, we replace them with a direct-fit unit that bolts into your factory hangers, or we weld in a universal one where that makes more sense.
- Catalytic converters — we replace failed ones, but not before checking for a misfire or a bad oxygen sensor that could ruin the new converter.
- Ohio E-Check & emissions — if you fail, we work from the printed report and the codes, so the repair addresses the real problem.
- Flex pipes — we fix the braided section that lets your engine move without cracking the rest of the exhaust.
We also sell steel and stainless pre-bent brake lines and performance exhaust parts through our online store, cut to OEM designs and supplied with the flares and fittings you need.
